Chiropractor Sentenced For Insurance Fraud, Practicing Without License

DELAWARE, Ohio — A chiropractor accused of practicing without a license pleaded guilty on Friday to charges that included defrauding insurance companies out of more than $250,000.

Prosecutors said Zahir Sherazee treated at least 14 different people at his home in Lewis Center, Ohio, 10TV's Maureen Kocot reported.

Prosecutors also said he over billed insurance companies to the tune of nearly $270,000.

Sherazee pleaded guilty to engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, and said he was receiving treatment to treat his bipolar disorder.

The judge sentenced Sherazee to five years and three months in prison, Kocot reported.
