Chiropractor Accused Of Sexual Assault Turns Himself In
MARTINEZ, Calif. -- The chiropractor suspected of using GHB on women and sexually assaulting one of them at his office, has turned himself in at the Martinez Jail.
On Thursday, NBC11 got its first look inside the medical office where police said Jason Phillip Goettsch, 37, used to capture one of his attacks on video.
Goettsch already has a checkered past, and knew he was a fugitive, based on phone evidence from Wednesday, NBC11's Ethan Harp reported.
Goettsch spoke on the phone to a woman who described her conversation to officers.
"She asked him specifically -- good for her -- she asked him, 'Where are you?' and he answered, 'I'm hiding out from the cops,'" said Diane Aguinaga of the Antioch Police Department.
During the brief call, police said Goettsch demanded the phone number of his alleged second victim.
"She doesn't know him, she only met him that night of the assault so she has no idea how he got her number and asked her for the other victim's phone number," said Aguinaga. "(It) scared her quite a bit."
Finding Goettsch had become a top priority for Antioch police because he had been considered a flight risk.
Goettsch is accused of slipping GHB, often referred to as the "date rape drug," into the women's drinks. He is accused of then taking them back to his medical office and capturing the sexual assault on video.
"Shock. Shock. That's all (I felt)," said one of the people who worked at the office, but for a different chiropractor, Harp reported.
One doctor who rents his space from Goettsch said he hadn't seen Goettsch in a month and he did not know police were searching for his landlord.
