State claims Andover chiropractor molested patients
ANDOVER, Kansas , April 3, 2008 -- An Andover chiropractor is facing allegations of inappropriately touching his patients.
The Kansas Board of Healing Arts filed the petition detailing five counts of sexual misconduct against Dr. Terry Farney. He might face criminal charges as well.
As of late Thursday afternoon, Terry Farney still had his license to practice while attorneys for the Kansas Board of Healing Arts waited for an emergency order to temporarily revoke his license.
That comes after a petition was filed Wednesday by the Kansas Board of Healing Arts.
The order alleges that in 1989 Farney began the inappropriate touching of an 11 year old and the abuse continued for 9 years.
It says between January and July of 2007 Farney committed repeated acts of inappropriate touching of a 14 year old in the course of providing chiropractic evaluation and treatment.
Between 1996 and 2000 he allegedly did the same thing with another 14 year old and in 2004, with a 50 year old and between 1996 and 1999 with a 40 year old.
The Kansas Healing Arts petition comes on the heels of a criminal investigation by the Andover Police Department that began in July of last year and concluded last month.
