RemedyMD buys medical software firm
By Molly Merrill
SALT LAKE CITY – RemedyMD, a provider of predictive informatics to recognize patterns, personalize treatment and improve healthcare outcomes, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Salt Lake City-based EZHealthcare, Inc. , a privately held medical software and consulting company. The terms of acquisition have not been released.
"We joined the RemedyMD family in order to provide a complete healthcare solution for practices and clinics," stated Derek Cordon, President of EZ Healthcare in a press release. "We have always known that there would be a major advantage to practices that use integrated clinical and financial systems from the same vendor. We began to build the additional products we needed, but when we saw RemedyMD's platform it became obvious that we could better meet the needs of our customers by combining efforts."
EZHealthcare was founded in 1988 and has been recognized for their practice management solutions, which serve over 1,900 medical practices in the United States. EZHealthcare’s products, the EZ Office and EZ EHR, have been added to RemedyMD’s suite of products and will utilize their Mosaic’ platform to provide patients with up-to-date information.
The EZ Office includes management software for practice-wide scheduling, revenue cycle management, electronic billing and automatic professional statements. The EZ EHR is a web-based manager of patient health records and other patient data and will be complemented with RemedyMD’s myHealthManager.
myHealthManager is a patient portal that collects data and offers patients real-time access and interaction modules, such as an instant messaging system, which gives patients the tools they need to improve their own health.
